Guess the Definition

I think this site would be very interesting to students. they have to guess the definition of the word. only one definition is correct and all others are posted by people who have visited the site. Students would have a chance to submitt a definition of a word and check back later to see how many people guessed their meaning of the word. this game could be continued later in the classroom as a group activity. students could use a dictionary to get a definition of a word and make up other fake definitions and try it on other classmates.Fake out. I would love to use this site with students as an introduction to using the dictionary I think that having fake definition mixed in with the correct one would encourage students to explore the dictionary to find the correct answer. the introduction to the site would happen in class as I demonstrated how to use a dictionary. students would then try to find words that I would write on the board. after practice we would move into the computer lab to begin fake out. after some time trying without the dictionary students could begin to use it. after they have had time to try with the hard copy of the dictionary I would introduce Dictionary.com, so that they could see all their options.
