Web site for classroom use

I used this site with my students in Yellowknife. Any time we were working on a specific theme in the classroom such as plants in grade 3 science I would integrate this into computer class by using this web site. There is something for every subject and grade level. The students loved exploring the site and completing some of the interactive exercises. there are also exercises to use with the smart board. When we started the theme of plants in the classroom we first had a story about planting and then did a colaborative KWL chart (what you know, want to know, and later what you learned) next we had computer class where I used this site to let the children explore the different parts of plants. This site has matching, small video clips and many other activities that can be done either on their own or as a class using the smart board. In my classroom we used this activity, where the students worked on their own to drag and drop the parts of the plant to the correct spot, pick the right answer in activity, and then move the bee to pollonate the plant. we then followed up this topic with a trip outside to look for different types of plants and where they were found. The last activity that we completed was to grow our own plants I believe we planted bean seeds because they are really easy to grow and grow into a very hardy plant. The children really enjoyed this activity as did I. http://www.topmarks.co.uk/
